FAQs

Let me answer your important questions

There is so much to think about when arranging your big day. I want to help you make it the most special day it can be. I’m very happy to answer all your questions and help you work out the details. Below is a small selection of questions that I am freqently asked by couples who are planning their wedding photography with me. If you have others, do not hesitate to contact me

Apart from doing a little happy dance, the first thing to do is confirm I am available on the date you’ve chosen. Once that’s pencilled in, I will need your full names, address and wedding venue. I will draw up the booking form and contract for you to complete and once returned with a 20% deposit – the date gets inked in my diary.

One of the most important things is for me to get to know you both and build a plan for your day. I really like to meet my couples either in person or on Zoom (or Teams) so we can discuss your plans. It’s also a time when many of my couples put me in touch with their event organiser (if they have one), so we can check in on timescales for key aspects of the day. Once everything is finalised, we can have a catch-up session to ‘dot eyes’ and ‘cross tees’, ensuring all the detail is there – last minute changes can always be accommodated though, and I’m always here to answer any questions that may suddenly pop up, even the day before. My final invoice will be due for payment four weeks ahead of the day.

Yes. I love engagement shoots as they give us time to get to know each other. The best bit about an engagement shoot is it gets you used to being in front of the camera. I’m not about formal posed images. This is about having fun. We can of course include your dogs, horses, or even cats. Let me know if you’re interested and I can give you a quote.

I certainly can and often do as it gives other members of your families an opportunity to meet me. It is also useful for your vicar/celebrant to ask questions or let me know if there is anything they don’t like when it comes to photography. We can simply add this aspect into your package.

If you live within two hours of my home in Hampshire, then all your travel fees are included in the package. If you live outside of this area, then I charge a standard mileage rate of 45p per mile and accommodation for the night before the wedding.

Yes, lots, and it’s always worked very well. I usually like to get in touch with them beforehand, so we know what we are planning and don’t get in each other’s way.

Sometimes, especially if there is a bit of a distance between where you are both getting ready, or you’re thinking you’d love lots of candid shots of all your guests throughout the day. This is when a 2nd shooter is a great option - it allows for both your stories in the morning to be captured along with your guests arriving at church and multiple angles during the ceremony etc. Just ask and we can discuss the options.

Absolutely you can. They can even come to the ceremony if that’s what you’d like (and it’s allowed). We can include them in your reflective photos too as they often make you more relaxed.

Like dogs, horses are very welcome to be part of your day if you’d like them to be. And if you’re worried they might not behave as it’s quite intense for them, we can make a plan to do a post wedding shoot. I sometimes describe these sessions as ‘trash the dress’ shoots, but almost anything is possible. I’ve been round horses all my life so very comfortable photographing them.

However your day evolves, having a few formal family photos is part of it. Keeping the timescale short is also important though, as I’m sure you’ll want to be spending time with your guests. This is one of many parts of your day that we will discuss and plan before your big day.

If my standard 10-hour package does not suit you and you want me to stay until you leave that’s not a problem at all, but like Cinderella, I will leave by midnight.

I usually deliver a minimum of 500 beautiful high-resolution images from your day, from bridal prep to first dance and beyond. I don’t give any guarantee as to the amount though as every wedding is different and some very small boutique weddings wouldn’t have a story big enough for 500 images.

Timescales vary depending on my schedule, but I always do my best to get you your images as quickly as possible – usually three to four weeks as I don’t like to rush the editing process. In the meanwhile, I will get you a sneak peek selection from the day within 24/48 hours so you can share the highlights with family and friends.

I will send you a personalised online gallery with your own password. These galleries are active for at least 12 months so you can download your photos as many times as you like and share the gallery with all your family and friends near and far.

In simple terms, no. Editing your wedding photos collection is half the work. The most amazing thing about shooting in the way I do is the freedom to be creative while editing – so the originals stay with me.

Yes please, I’d love a bit of something as it saves me having to disappear. My day starts super early and inevitably ends pretty late if I’m travelling too. I don’t want to interrupt the magic going on in the catering realm, so if they know they need to have an extra portion, that would make my day and there’s very little I won’t eat.

That has never happened, but if I really can’t be with you on the day due to any unforeseen circumstance, then I will try to find you an alternative who will do an amazing job in my absence. If I really can’t find cover for your day, you will receive a full refund.

I hope I will be able to accommodate the new date for you. However, if that isn’t the case or you cancel the wedding, then I will refund you less the deposit which in these circumstances is non-refundable.

Of course if you have any questions at all that are not covered above then I am here to answer them. Please feel free to get in touch and we can go through any questions you have. I’d love to get to know you and here more about your wedding.
