High on a hill in Herefordshire

Esme & Sam
Esme & Sam should have got married in 2020, but Covid put paid to that. They made the difficult decision to move it 12 months so they could keep their amazing venue and suppliers. Even with retricted wedding guest numbers, their day was simply the best.
I originally met Esme & Sam at a wedding in Wiltshire in 2019. Then I also discovered that I’d also photographed Sam’s cousin’s wedding a few years earlier, talk about coincidence. I was delighted to have been recommended to be their wedding photographer.
Nestled away in rural Herefordshire, our first meeting was beset by flooding, and I mean serious flooding. Hereford was completely cut off as the River Wye had burst its banks. Every lane I turned down was deeper under water than the previous one. I made it in the end to the beautiful Broadfield Court where the wedding reception was being held and we had a wonderful engagement shoot in the cool autumn sunshine.
The sun was shining on the wedding day itself, which was a huge relief. Esme and her family had taken over Broadfield Court so all the prep shots were taken there, before travelling a couple of miles to the beautiful Bodenham Church for the service. Once back at Broadfield we were able to sneak away among the vines for some special quiet reflective moments. Withou doubt, the views stole the show. With their marquee high on a hill there were simply stunning views across the Herefordshire countryside and far into Wales.
Add in mega bouncing balls, a golf driving competition and a fire pit to snuggle around at the end of the evening. Surely this is what wedding dreams are made of, aren’t they?
