English country marquee wedding

A truly international day with a wonderful contingent of Canadians coming to Wiltshire for Shaden & George’s wedding. The venue – a 12^th Century church that George was christened in became the venue for his marriage ceremony. The bride looked beautiful in a dress by Clover London and her hair and make up by Emma Gandolfo.

Under usual circumstances, the church’s capacity should have been around 50. They somehow managed to cram in  65 friends and family for the service who ranged in age from eight weeks to over 80 years. With both photographer and videographer, we almost thought we would end up photographing and filming from outside the church. Amazingly, there was just about enough space for us both. Albeit with the odd elbow poking out from the end of a few pews!

It was a beautiful service, where the groom’s godfather played the organ and one of the bride’s best friends sang. Afterwards, guests walked the 200 metres back to George’s family home, following behind the happy couple in a beautiful Rolls. Then the real celebrations began. 

Speeches were mostly in English with a smattering of French thrown in to reflect Shaden’s Quebec heritage and George’s bilingual skills. And with four generations as guests, it was a real family affair.
