Sarah & Richard

Married from home in Hampshire

Sarah and Richard planned the most amazing day, getting married from Richard’s family home tucked away in a Hampshire village.

A brilliant day that saw all their plans brought together by local wedding planner Minty Moore. With some lovely fields to choose from, Sarah and Richard opted for a clear fronted marquee. South Downs Marquees positioned it peretly to catch the evening sun at the end of day.

Sarah, her mum and bridesmaids all got ready at Richard’s parents. Richard, his brothers, best man and ushers were in the next village at his and Sarah’s new home

Special moments

Natasha Wiggins and her team did the bridal party’s hair and make-up with Sarah’s bouquet and flower arch supplied by local florist Hattie & Flo. The church and marquee flowers were all grown at home with Dalias taking centre stage. I can’t go without mentioning the most amazing food (which I was lucky enough to enjoy). From reception canapes to a full on three course dinner, Martha Hollis did a fantastic job. And they made the wedding cake too.

The day felt more like mid summer than autumn right from the get go; and we were able to make the most of the beautiful surroundings all through the day.

A day full of emotions

Weddings are always emotional, and this one had so many happy moments, tinged with a little sadness. Sarah’s grandmother had passed away just a week before the wedding and they were very close. But it did mean that her grandfather was able to come. Better still he drove Sarah and her father to church is his beautiful vintage Rover.

And just to add to the emotion, Richard’s super talented younger brother sang two beautiful songs as they did their first dance; something only the families knew about. Naturally he got a standing ovation, given there almost wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

A perfect send off

As the sun set and dancing really got going, there was so much love and happiness in that marquee, the bride and groom almost didn’t want to leave. A quick change and many farewells they were waved off to go almost immediately on their Indian Ocean island honeymoon
